Day 319 | Got My Ass Kicked


Now that I am back to being fully healthy again, I went back to the boot camp class at the YMCA today.  It was wonderful to be back. I was nervous that I would struggle and I was worried about how much fitness I had lost.

I didn’t do too badly. I could run and do the cardio alright. But what I struggled on was the squats! We started doing a circuit of squats and I couldn’t get through one set! I couldn’t believe it. I figured my cardio would have waned but I thought since I was still running sporadically that my quads would have been okay. I was totally wrong.

By the end of class I realized that I had lost quite a bit of fitness in the last two months.  My arms are not as strong, I was using 3 and 5 pound weights and still felt like I might not be able to complete each exercise.

However, I loved being in class again. It’s a full 60 minute intense workout of cardio, weights, pushups, abs, squats and lunges. I know I will be sore tomorrow, and I’m so happy about that.
