About me

RunningItOff.com was started appropriately enough on January 1, 2010 as an attempt to chronicle my weight loss journey achieved through running.

My name is Laura.   I am 40 years old and live in New England.

I have carried this weight around, more or less, since college.  I have had my thin moments…only 20 pounds overweight at my wedding, and my fat moments…after two pregnancies in two years.

So, here I am.

It’s not going to be any easier than it is today.  It will only get harder as I get older to lose this extra weight.

My plan is to lose the weight by Running It Off.

I am a very active person.  I’m not going to lose this weight by taking the stairs, or parking at the far end of a parking lot.  I already do these things.  I’m not lazy, I am always on the go.

I also will not lose this weight by only making small changes to my diet.  I’ve done those, and they work…slowly.  I’ve lost 15 pounds for each of the last two years (all the pregnancy weight).  But I don’t have time for that.  I don’t want to wait 3 more years to reach my goal weight.

I need to take drastic action.

I need to Run It Off.

I believe that running is one of the most natural exercises we can do.   I don’t believe it is harmful to us.  We were made to run.  I think not running is far more harmful.

I know that people can run at any age and at any weight.  I know it will be the fastest and most natural way for me to lose the weight and I’ll use this site to both chronicle my journey and prove my point.   Hopefully, once I reach my goal this site will continue to be a resource for people like me who need a kick start and a source of motivation.
